This cycle tour takes you from the hills and valleys of the Neckar, where Stuttgart, once a royal residence and now a state capital, rests in historic splendour, to the banks of the Main, where Frankfurt flourishes as a financial metropolis with its glass towers. Lively cities, secluded villages, vineyards, palaces and castles - a cycle tour along the ‘River of the Swabians’ leaves nothing to be desired. Day 1 Arrival in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, boat trip
Boarding at 3 p.m., departure at 5 p.m. During dinner, your boat will take you to Lauffen, the birthplace of Hölderlin.

Day 2 Lauffen - Bad Wimpfen, approx. 30 km/19 mi
A route full of culture and enjoyment awaits you today. Gentle river valleys, steep vineyards, idyllic wine villages with wine taverns and cosy pubs accompany you on your first day of cycling along the Neckar.

Day 3 Bad Wimpfen - Eberbach, approx. 45 km/28 mi
Bad Wimpfen with its imposing Staufer imperial palace and picturesque half-timbered houses takes you on a journey into the medieval past. Hornberg Castle, once owned by Götz von Berlichingen, is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the Neckar Valley.

Day 4 Eberbach - Heidelberg, approx. 34 km/21 mi
Castles and ruins sit on the heights, and you cycle to Heidelberg on flat paths. Heidelberg Castle greets you from afar.

Day 5 Heidelberg - Worms, approx. 50 km/31 mi
The first stop is Ladenburg, once the retirement home of Karl Benz. Are you more tempted by a visit to the car museum or a stroll through the well-preserved historic town centre with its picturesque half-timbered houses? The destination for the day is the imperial city of Worms.

Day 6 Worms - Nierstein, approx. 37 km/23 mi, boat trip
The Rhine Cycle Route passes through Mannheim, where the Neckar flow into the Rhine, and continues on to Nierstein. The municipality is considered the largest wine-growing centre in Rheinhessen.

Day 7 Mainz - Frankfurt, approx. 45 km/28 mi
From here, you cycle through the Schanheimer Düne nature reserve to the financial metropolis of Frankfurt. There is more to see here than just the skyline - discover the Imperial Cathedral, St. Paul's Church, Römerberg and much more.

Day 8 Departure

Personal bikes:
Depending on capacity you can take your own bike on request. Please note, however, that your bike will be loaded twice a day with many others on and off the ship and damage can not be ruled out. A liability for this can not be assumed. We advise you to book one of the good rental bikes.
