If you don’t feel like cycling, stay aboard the ship!
By boat & bike & in Denmark and Sweden - wind, waves, sea air - on this trip you will get to know the most diverse facets of the two kingdoms. With the barkentine Atlantis you sail along the coasts of the Öresund and set course for historic harbours, small villages and remarkable cities. By bike you cycle along seashores and inland and also explore the islands of Ven and Møn. You are welcome to join in the sailing, it is not required; experience is not necessary either.
Here you will find details of the three mast barquentine Atlantis.
Day 1 Arrival in Copenhagen
Welcome to the city of the Little Mermaid. Embarkation at 5:30 pm, after dinner on board briefing about the ship and the trip.
Day 2 Kopenhagen - Helsingør, 48 km/ 29 mi
You drive along the coast of the northern Öresund to Helsingør. Just outside Helsingør is the Lousiana Museum of Modern Art, which is well worth a visit. Overnight stay in the impressive harbor town of Helsingør.
Day 3 Round trip Helsingør, sailing, 28-45 km/ 17-28 mi
Today you will explore the “Danish Riviera” by bike and the inland with its pretty castles and manor houses. During dinner, a boat trip to Helsingborg. We highly recommend a stroll after dinner through this beautiful old town, which is also one of the most innovative cities in Europe.
Day 4 Helsingborg - Landskrona & Ven, 43 km/ 27 mi
On the Swedish side of the Öresund, you cycle along the coast of the province of Skåne to the fortified town of Landskrona. A dinghy takes you ashore on the island of Ven, the “jewel of the Öresund”, which is only 7.5 km² in size. Enjoy a coffee or whisky on this island of artists and science. Return to the ship by dinghy in the late afternoon; anchor off the coast at night.
Day 5 Sailing
Enjoy the sailing trip on the deck of the sailing ship. The highlight of the day is the imposing white limestone cliffs of Stevns Klint between Køge and Rødvig. On clear nights, don't miss out on the starry sky.
Day 6 Round trip Køge, 30-58 km, 19-36 mi sailing
Hop on your bike and cycle through the hilly landscape directly to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Stevens Klint. Back in medieval Køge, the boat is already waiting for you in the harbor to set course for Malmö.
Day 7 Round trip Malmö, 26-49 km/ 16-30 mi
Historic charm meets spiraling skyscrapers - that's Malmö. Explore the charming contrasts of the city in the afternoon or cycle to the lively university town of Lund, one of Sweden's oldest cities. Discover the historic city center and the magnificent 12th century cathedral.
