If you don’t feel like cycling, stay aboard the ship!
Camargue and Provence by boat and bike - a journey to impressive places and through a section of France’s untouched nature. You’ll be cycling through the Rhone valley with its famous vineyards, exploring sights such as the Roman Pont du Gard and the medieval Tour de Constance tower. You’ll find the Camargue landscape, with its famous white horses and black bulls, to be very impressive.
Contingent on availability, we will book you on either the MS Caprice or the MS L'Estello, which offer like-for-like amenities.
Day 1 Arrival in Aigues-Mortes
Embarkation starts at 6 pm, and there’s also time for exploring the historic centre.
Day 2 Round trip Aigues-Mortes, approx. 55 km/34 mi
Today is wholly devoted to the Camargue, which remains pristine and untouched in many places. We recommend taking the chance to go for a swim in the Mediterranean.
Day 3 Boat trip, Franquevaux - Arles, approx. 35 km/22 mi
The ship will take you to the Saint Gilles locks, after which you’ll be riding to Arles. Why not check out the picturesque historic centre!
Day 4 Arles - Vallabrègues, approx. 55 km/34 mi
Today’s first stop is Saint Rémy de Provence, Nostradamus’s birthplace. Afterwards, you’ll be riding through a picturesque countryside full of limestone cliffs and olive trees, made famous by van Gogh.
Day 5 Round trip Vallabrègues, boat trip, 35 km/22 mi
You’ll be cycling to Barbentane castle, the Saint Michel de Frigolet abbey and the medieval Boulbon castle. Then the ship will take you to Aramon.
Day 6 Aramon - Avignon, boat trip, approx. 40 km/25 mi
Today’s cycling route features the Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard. In the morning, the ship will take you to Avignon, the city of popes.
Day 7 Round trip around Avignon, approx. 30 km/19 mi
You are embarking on a journey which will lead you through the Garique region, which is shaped by vineyards and orchards. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to explore Avignon’s historic centre.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast your tour "Camargue and Provence by Boat & bike" on MS Caprice or L'Estello ends.

Parking in Aigues-Mortes:
Please note: the historic centre is inaccessible for cars, but there is ample parking available outside the city walls - mostly subject to a charge ranging between 20 € and 50 € per day.
Arrival by train:
Train station Aigues-Mortes SNCF, approx. 500 m / 1650 ft from the city centre
Arrival by plane:
Airport Nîmes-Arles-Camargue (Garons), distance approx. 40 km / 25 mi, transfer to Nimes train station by shuttle bus, take the train from here to Aigues-Mortes, (1 x change, duration approx. 1 h, normal fare approx. 1 €)
Airport Montpellier-Mèditerranèe, distance approx. 25 km / 16 mi, for the trip to Aigues-Mortes we recommend taking a Taxi.
Return transfer:
Under your own steam by train from Avignon to Aigues Mortes, (1 x change, duration approx. 1,5 - 2,5 h, normal fare approx. 17 €).
Personal bikes:
As space is limited, it will not be possible for you to bring your own bike on this tour.
