Mainz, Heidelberg and Strasbourg are impressive, while the small villages have a unique charm and are characterised by half-timbered houses. Day 1 Arrival in Strasbourg
Embarkation starts at 4.00 pm, afterwards you can cross the Rhine river by foot and spend the evening in the historic city centre of Strasbourg.
Day 2 Strasbourg - Gambsheim, 18 km/11 mi + boat trip
There is an extensive lock system you can visit in Gambsheim. You’ll reach the impressive fortress down of Germersheim by ship.
Day 3 Germersheim - Speyer, approx. 22 km/14 mi
You’ll cycle through the Flotzgrün landscape conservation area to the Roman city of Speyer, where one of the former imperial cathedrals awaits your visit.
Day 4 Speyer - Mannheim, approx. 28 km/17 mi
Your route will take you through nature reserves and hints at the natural wetland landscapes, which characterised this area before the straightening of the Rhine. The Technoseum offers a fascinating journey through time, which illuminates various aspects of industrialisation.
Day 5 Roundtrip to Heidelberg, approx. 52 km/32 mi
Today you’ll cycle across the Palatinate to the old university town of Heidelberg. The famous castle ruin towers high above the historic town centre. The Roman town Ladenburg is worth seeing.
Day 6 Mannheim - Worms, approx. 26 km/16mi
Make your way to the imperial city of Worms via the Friesenheimer Island. Explore the winding streets and walk in the footsteps of the Nibelungs. In addition, another former imperial cathedral awaits you.
Day 7 Nierstein - Mainz, 17-20 km/ 10-12 mi + boat trip
The ship will then take you further to the small wine town Nierstein, then you will reach Mainz, the former residence of the electoral prince and the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast your tour "Strasbourg - Mainz by Boat & Bike" ends.

However, please note that your bike will be loaded on and off the boat twice a day along with several others and therefore slight cosmetic damage to individual bikes cannot be ruled out, which is why we do not take responsibility or liability for such damage.
